Mindfulness of Emotions
Wed, 1/8/24, from 7-9pm @ 2926 NE Flander’s Street in NE Portland
Above all, this class will practice identifying emotions that are present, and in turn, relate to them wisely, as opposed to reacting on autopilot.
Things you will learn include:
- The experiential anatomy of emotions (i.e. the sensations, thoughts, impulses/behaviors, and related feelings).
- How every emotion has an underlying message, and when seen this way, it’s possible to relate to even the hard ones with care and compassion.
- The difference between collapsing into an emotion, being disconnected from an emotion, and dancing in between the two.

Mindfulness of Thoughts
Wed, 1/15/24, from 7-9pm @ 2926 NE Flander’s Street in NE Portland
In everyday life, people tend to be infatuated with their thoughts. When they sit to meditate, they tend to see thoughts as an enemy. In contrast, this workshop will walk a middle way between those two poles.
In this workshop, we’ll invite curiosity and point to a wiser relationship to thinking, where we engage them when useful, and let them go when unuseful. Through guided meditation, we’ll explore the raw appearance of thoughts, how they are interrelated with sensations and emotions, and how exactly they change.
More than anything, we’ll emphasize a wiser way of relating to thoughts.

Mindfulness of the Body
Wed, 1/22/24, from 7-9pm @ 2926 NE Flander’s Street in NE Portland
This workshop will explore how mindful embodiment is both an incredible tool for present-moment-awareness, as well as a means of developing intuitive wisdom. We’ll invite a curious approach that will look to notice & feel what’s actually happening in our bodies, whether pleasant or unpleasant, without reactivity.
We’ll try out a few different body awareness meditations, with an eye to a form of mindful embodiment that can happen while meditating as well as in our daily lives.

Mindfulness in Relationships
Wed, 1/29/24, from 7-9pm @ 2926 NE Flander’s Street in NE Portland
The primary thrust of this workshop will be developing in-the-moment mindfulness while speaking and listening to another person. The more we can do this, the more we remain centered in relationship without getting caught in reactivity, even when anxiety, annoyance, or other difficult feelings arise.
In brief, we’ll explore how to maintain connection to our deepest intuitive wisdom while with others.
