Immersion Overview

The purpose of this home practice immersion is to tear down the wall between our “meditation practice” and our “life.”  We’ll have three practice sessions on Zoom to drop into meditative stillness, and then use the in-between periods to experiment with being mindful in our daily life — whether we’re with other people, doing chores, working, lounging, or whatever else we choose to do on a Saturday.

The teachings and guidance offered will focus on being mindful in a way that carries over smoothly into daily life.

The teachings for the day are primarily inspired by Burmese Vipassana teacher, Sayadaw U Tejaniya, and more broadly, the Buddha’s teachings on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness.

People of all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome to participate!

Schedule

Feel free to come for as much or as little of the day as you like, whether that’s all three sessions, just one, or even half of one.  Likewise, feel free to keep your video on or off.  If you stay for the group discussion at the very end, it’s no requirement to speak.

Here’s the schedule for the day:

  • 8:00-9:15am PT — Short Talk + lightly guided meditation
  • 2:00-3:00pm PT — Short talk + lightly guided meditation
  • 7:30-8:45pm PT — Short talk + lightly guided meditation + group discussion

Cost

Offered on the gift economy (aka, generosity or donation).

Your presence is the biggest gift, though if you’re able, monetary contributions are always appreciated & help keep the ship afloat.  For more info on why I choose to teach entirely on donation, check out this article on “the gift economy.

Donations can be made in person or electronically via this link.
